Maine Harvest Bucks Program

We are launching the Maine Harvest Bucks program here at the Gardiner Food Co-op.  If the name sounds familiar you may have seen the program before at a farmer’s market, natural food store, or other Co-op. Maine Harvest Bucks are known as “nutrition incentives,” which increase the value of federal nutrition assistance dollars (SNAP/EBT) spent at participating farmers’ markets, Community Supported Agriculture farms, and retail outlets that sell local produce such as the Co-op. The program is put on by The Maine Farmland Trust.
